Hello friends! This would be my first article for the site so I have tried to keep it very simple. Hoping to learn a lot in the coming future from all of you.
Writing has always been my passion and hope this serves the purpose. I intend to write on this topic as it is something that everyone of us have and are never satisfied, always looking forward for a better one. ( Laughs! ! )..
Go back a decade where mobiles had just come into the market and every individual was awaiting awareness on it. Back then everyone did want one but the expenditure was a big issue as they were way expensive. Not just the phone alone but the sim and also the monthly tariff. To tackle these hurdles there was only one solution, wait and so were we all waiting. The wait had to end. The prices slashed down but this was only from the network providers. We still had to buy the same hefty priced phones.
One of the biggest reason, there were very few players in the market who sold mobile phones, three to four to be precise. But soon as the prices of the network providers slashed down new players entered the market and now there was a tough competition. No longer the few companies could monopolize. As new companies emerged our dreams to own a phone started taking its route. There was more awareness now as far away in the rural areas people were now aware that there is a device with which they could talk wirelessly. Their success was ours too.
Technology played an immense role in the great outcome of this amazing device. It all started with a huge dimensioned bar type calculator kinda device which was hard to fit in the pocket, but then it would do with keeping it in the hand as it was a status symbol.
A small screen to see the the numbers, just five ringtones and they were also your message tones accompanied by an antenna for the network. This to todays dates sounds insane as no one would use such an obsolete device.
Then gradually the shape and size started decreasing and products even became sleek and stylish. Small became the fashion. The smaller the better.
Everything was tried a huge device was now small and sleek which looks good to the eyes but this was not it. The next step was inventing other activities which kept humans busy, and to tackle this issue phones now had an expandable memory where you could store songs, videos, files backed up by a camera helping you capture endless memories.
As customers we need to keep updating and so does the manufacturers. This gave way to a new wave where keypads were left behind and touch became the new commute. Touch interface has credited the highest ever things possible to get done in one simple device which were actually meant to make and receive calls. With touch the device screen felt huge and many other activities such as using the internet became a lot easier. Mobiles now started replacing computers and laptops as many work which were not possible then was possible now.
From a huge dimensioned bar type calculator kinda device to a slim trimmed shiny 5 inch device with which you could click amazing photos, share them to your friends, store your favourite movies, videos and songs, stream the net at the highest speed possible, transfer anything from yours to the other in just seconds also with a facility for you to make and receive calls and send text.
This was why the mobile became so necessary to every human. Well, your wife might leave you and go but your phone will always stay. Why did this thing become so important we couldn’t do without is the answer to why it is so important and grew recognition in less then a decade. It became something which was with us round the clock.
We do make fun of the times when we had to carry along these huge phones but never look into the journey these devices travelled. The journey what we believed was almost impossible is now a possible truth in everyone’s hand.
