“We are GORKHAS and Proud to be Indian. Hello Folks I am  Bhawesh Chhetri, I belong to bagdogra district Darjeeling  west Bengal working in Aviation Security at bagdogra Airport as a security officer where my mandate is to keep my customers happy  my employees happy.

 In my personal life I am very neat and organized Person. I study at home and I like my desk to be perfectly in order. I had exact point of my phone not two inch this way or two inch that way. I have perfect place for my clock, Perfect place for my book. I am found of Running and had question in my mind when was the last time I did something for the first time?

Run with Roshni is a Brainchild of Roshni rai a Gorkha girl from a village known as Pedong in the District of Darjeeling, west Bengal. Roshni is Advocate by profession and she is based in Mumbai. Her hobby is long distance running and she had participated in several half marathon (21km) full marathon (42) and ultra marathons of 50 km, 75km and 89km. She had represented India in the Comrade Marathon of 89km. She believes that if Gorkha kids get a proper guidance from the right age, they have the potential to become world class runners and compete with the Kenyans and Ethiopians. She founded the Run with Roshni Foundation to eliminate the identity crisis faced by Nepali speaking Indians in their own motherland.

Experiencing the life in a Metro city of Mumbai living and leading her life away from home, many a times, she has faced identity crises, which all the Gorkhas are facing all over India. Whenever, she says her mother tongue is Nepali, people assumed her to be a migrant form Nepal, when the fact is Nepali is already a recognized language under the constitution of India and it is one of the language mentioned in the Indian currency.

Rotary Darjeeling Marathon

With a Vision: Produce World Class Marathon Runners from the Darjeeling Hills Run with Roshni team had organized  Rotary Darjeeling Half Marathon  which was my Spontaneous choice to show my Courageous act will be the difference between I am and I wish I was……….. Runner’s from all over gather to run India’s most tough run Scenic half Marathon. At an altitude of around 7000ft above the sea level with an iron will, I was there to complete a herculean task with fervent hope. I will which define me. All things of value come at a cost without it there is no victory, no triumph. It is not a Cake walk which flag off from Chowrasta, considered to be the heart of Darjeeling.

The route crisis crosses the emerald green tea garden the exotic coniferous forests the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the heritage Toy train tracks the jalapahar cantonment against the famed backdrop of the Kanchenjunga massif. A red carpet welcome and an ardent supporter from Darjeeling town give me the push and when it over with a net timing of 2:20:39 sec that joy last forever.

“An eco- friendly adventure sport is the best way to spice up and brighten one’s life. Becoming one with nature is the most satisfying experience that one can have as it places the mind and body in harmony.

“I supported Roshni, which represents the Enlightenment which will lead the Gorkha community in greater Heights and wider scopes in all areas of life………….. to regain the lost pride with positive actions and activities come lets a goal…….lets set an Aim ……lets target a goal…..let run with pride Run with honor Run with vision…….Run with Positive Energy, Run with Unity, let’s all Run with Roshni Enlightenment there will be a day when the world would shout “GORKHAS ……THAT IS WHY THEY ARE!”

At the end there is no doubts at all about the Unanimity among politicians is rare and the desire for Gorkhaland is deeply embedded in the heart of the People and cannot be erased or suppressed.
